The Ghana Oil and Gas Conference 2022 was held on the 9th of November 2022 at the Marriot Hotel.
Under the theme ‘Transitioning into a Low Carbon Economy’ players from both Government and Industry sat to deliberate about the fortunes of Ghana in this transition.
In his welcome address, David Ampofo, CEO of the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber spoke about the imminent energy transition. He highlighted pressures from the Europe and Americas for a Low carbon economy and the policies in place to lead this charge, pointing out that this has a direct impact on investments and business in Africa’s oil and gas industry and in particular Ghana. He ended his address by admonishing Ghana to act with dispatch as the world transitions into a low carbon/green future, taking advantage of the opportunities available before we run out of time.
